Dr. David Johnson grew up in Lawrence, Kansas, graduated from medical school from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and then completed his family medicine residency at University of Kansas Medical Center. He always looked forward to moving back to Kansas after his family moved to Kentucky. Dr. Johnson believes in a comprehensive approach to medicine. Each patient is unique not only in their individual medical conditions, but also in their personality and social circumstances. Knowledge and understanding of all these aspects is essential to assisting his patients with their general health and medical decisions. Dr. Johnson founded Associates in Family Medicine in 1982 and has dedicated his entire career caring for the community of Kansas City, Kansas and the surrounding areas. He enjoys treating patients of all ages, especially members of the same family. Dr. Johnson is a skilled diagnostician and also enjoys providing joint injections, skin lesion removal and is one of a special few physicians who still provide inpatient hospital care. His most rewarding moments come when making a difficult diagnosis on a complex patient who then responds to treatment. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, playing tennis and swimming for exercise.
